More than 8 out of 10 people in the world will live in Asia or Africa by 2100
The UN projects that the world population will increase from 7.7 billion today to 10.9 billion by 2100. Most of this growth will come from Africa; its share of the world population will rise from 17% to 40%. More than 8-in-10 people will live in Asia or Africa by the end of the century.
